Dave has a long history of working with his hands. His life-work experience has taken him from making tools and rebuilding and repairing machinery, to serving as a wilderness technician with the U.S. Forest Service and working as a carpenter on new home construction in the Ely area.
His curiosity about how things work serves his ability to easily learn the new skills and techniques needed in a wide variety of situations. With Dave, it's always about understanding how things are put together and connected.
When it became apparent that a career change was Dave's next choice, he naturally turned to a way he could use his hands and his understanding of how systems work for his answer.
A lifelong respect for the miracle of how the human body functions, repairs and heals inspired Dave to select massage therapy.
Dave is a graduate of the CenterPoint Massage and Shiatsu Therapy School and Clinic in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
With over 1250 hours of classroom training and supervised clinical practice, Dave is prepared to meet his clients' full range of needs. In addition to working with his private clients, Dave provides massage services at YMCA Camp du Nord on Burntside Lake in Ely.
He is certified by the National Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and is a current member of the American Massage Therapy Association.
In his down time, Dave can most often be found with his wife, Thea Sheldon, paddling, hiking, xc skiing or snowshoeing in and around the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.
